Grammy Winning Bluegrass Star Billy Strings
Michigan born bluegrass singer and guitarist Billy Strings released his first album 'Rock of Ages' in 2013 at the age of 21. He has gone on to be awarded the Momentum Award for Instrumentalist of the year by The International Bluegrass Music Association in 2016 and be named as one of the Top Ten New Country Artists to Know by Rolling Stone in 2017.
With a rich musical background thanks to his stepfather, a music picker, Billy was steeped in the Bluegrass tradition from an early age. His latest studio album, Highway Prayers (2024), showcases his growth as an artist and has seen him rise to new heights of popularity.

An Acoustic Guitar doesn't do that
Calling Strings' music "bluegrass" is like calling the Beatles Sargent Peppers "pop". I've seen some of the great guitarists over the years (Eddy, Slash, Richards, Ted,...), but I've never seen anybody do "stuff" like this...with an acoustic guitar! The Armory was rocking.
